LSM Construction is based on Goodall Street in Hillsborough, so this isn't just a suburb we cover, it's home turf. Hillsborough sits on the high ground between Mt Roskill and Onehunga, with streets of 1930s to 1960s bungalows and brick and tile homes climbing the ridge toward the Manukau Harbour.
A lot of the sections up here slope, which means retaining walls and level changes come up more often than they would on flat ground. That's something we plan for from the first site visit, not a surprise once digging starts.
It's a settled, established suburb, and the work reflects that. Most of what we do in Hillsborough is renovating and extending the homes already here, adding a minor dwelling to a section with room to spare, or building a deck that makes the most of a view toward Three Kings and the harbour, rather than clearing sites for new subdivisions.
