What we collect
When you fill in the quote form on any page of this site, we collect:
- Your name, phone number and email address
- The job address you enter
- The service you are asking about, your timeframe and the description of your project
We do not ask for payment details through this website.
Your location and the job address field
As you type in the job address field, the text you type is sent to Photon (photon.komoot.io), a free address search service built on OpenStreetMap data and run by Komoot in Germany. It returns a list of matching Auckland addresses. Nothing else from the form is sent to it.
The “Use my current location” button is optional. It only runs when you click it, and your browser will ask for your permission first. If you allow it, your device's coordinates are sent to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service to find the matching street address, which is then placed in the job address field. We do not receive or store your coordinates. We only receive the address text that ends up in the field when you submit the form, and you can edit or replace it before you send.
Why we collect it
We use your details to reply to your enquiry, arrange a site visit, prepare a quote and, if you go ahead, carry out the work and stay in touch about it. We do not sell your information and we do not use it for marketing to other businesses.
Who handles it
- Formspree receives your form submission and passes it to us by email. Formspree is based in the United States, so your details are stored and processed overseas by them.
- Photon and OpenStreetMap receive address text and location coordinates as described above.
- Google Analytics records how visitors use the site, such as pages viewed and button clicks, using cookies and similar technology. This data is collected in aggregate and is not linked to your quote request. You can block it with your browser settings or an opt-out extension.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces used on this site, which means your browser contacts Google when a page loads.
We may also share your details with subcontractors, suppliers or council and consent authorities where that is needed to do the job you asked us to quote or build. We will disclose personal information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as they are needed to respond to you and to run any job that follows, including warranty and legal record-keeping requirements. If you do not go ahead, ask us and we will delete your details unless we are required to keep them.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Email info@lsmconstruction.co.nz and we will respond within 20 working days.
If you think we have handled your information badly and we have not resolved it, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
Security
This site is served over HTTPS, so what you send us is encrypted in transit. Enquiries are held in our business email, which is access-controlled. No method of online transmission is completely secure, so please do not send sensitive information such as bank or ID details through the form.
